General Terms of Use
Rules and conditions governing the use of the DocuThink platform
Effective date: February 19, 2026
1. Purpose and acceptance
These General Terms and Conditions of Use (hereinafter "GTC") govern access to and use of the DocuThink platform, published by DocuThink SAS (hereinafter "DocuThink", "we" or "the Company"), accessible at https://docuthink.com.
By creating an account or using the Service, you declare that you have read, understood, and accepted without reservation these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, you must cease using the Service immediately.
DocuThink reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Users will be notified of any substantial changes by email with a minimum of 30 days' notice.
2. Service Description
DocuThink is a SaaS platform for intelligent document collaboration. The service notably allows:
- Importing and processing documents (PDFs, notes, reports) via direct upload or connection to Google Drive.
- Automatic generation of summaries and extraction of key information using artificial intelligence.
- Question and answer (Q&A) on your documents via our AI engine.
- Team collaboration: comments, annotations, shared workspaces.
- Monitoring engagement with documents: who read what, time spent, progress.
- Integration with third-party tools: Google Drive, Slack, and partner services.
DocuThink reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time, with reasonable notice except in the event of a technical or security emergency.
3. Registration and user account
3.1 Eligibility requirements
To use DocuThink, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction.
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
- Not have been previously banned from DocuThink for violating these Terms of Service.
3.2 Account Creation
By registering, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information.
- Keep your login credentials confidential.
- Notify DocuThink immediately of any unauthorized use of your account (security@docuthink.com).
You are responsible for all activities carried out from your account. One account per individual. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent a suspension is strictly prohibited.
4. Acceptable Use of the Service
4.1 Permitted Uses
DocuThink is designed for legitimate professional and personal use, including:
- The analysis and understanding of professional, academic or personal documents.
- Team collaboration on documentary projects.
- Integration into existing professional workflows.
4.2 Prohibited Uses
You are strictly prohibited from using DocuThink to:
- Upload, share or process content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, threatening, or infringes on the rights of third parties.
- Violate intellectual property rights: only upload documents for which you own the rights or for which you have permission.
- Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with the security measures of the Service.
- Use robots, scrapers, or any automated tools to access the Service without written authorization.
- Share your access with unauthorized third parties or resell access to the Service.
- Collect personal data from other users without their consent.
- Upload documents containing malware, viruses, or any malicious code.
- Use the Service for competing purposes without prior authorization from DocuThink.
- Attempt to access other users' data or bypass access controls.
Any violation of these prohibitions may result in the immediate suspension of your account and legal action where appropriate.
5. User Content
5.1 Ownership of your content
You retain full ownership of all documents, files, and content that you upload to DocuThink (hereinafter "User Content"). DocuThink does not claim any ownership rights to your User Content.
5.2 License granted to DocuThink
By uploading User Content, you grant DocuThink a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to process and analyze that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service. This license terminates upon deletion of the content or termination of your account.
DocuThink never uses your User Content to train its AI models without your explicit and revocable consent.
5.3 Your responsibilities
You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent and warrant that:
- You have all the necessary rights to upload and process this content.
- This content does not violate any applicable law or any third-party rights.
- This content does not contain any personal information from third parties without their consent.
6. Pricing plans and billing
6.1 Available Plans
DocuThink offers several pricing plans, detailed on our pricing page: https://docuthink.com/pricing. Prices are shown excluding applicable taxes.
6.2 Beta Period
During the beta period, access may be provided free of charge or at a reduced price. DocuThink reserves the right to change the pricing at the end of the beta period with 30 days' notice. Early adopters with a special offer will retain it according to the terms communicated at the time of their registration.
6.3 Billing and Renewal
- Subscriptions are renewed automatically at each period (monthly or annual).
- You can cancel at any time from your dashboard. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
- No refunds are given for partial periods, unless otherwise provided by law.
6.4 Delays and default of payment
In the event of non-payment, DocuThink reserves the right to suspend access to the Service after notification. Your data will remain accessible in read-only mode for 30 days after suspension.
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 Property of DocuThink
DocuThink and all of its components — software, algorithms, interfaces, trademarks, logos, designs, and documentation — are the exclusive property of DocuThink SAS and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. No provision of these Terms of Use transfers to you any intellectual property rights in the Service or its components.
7.2 License to use
DocuThink grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to access and use the Service in accordance with these Terms of Service, solely for your legitimate business or personal needs.
8. Confidentiality and data protection
The processing of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms and Conditions. DocuThink is committed to processing your data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable laws.
9. Third-party integrations
DocuThink may integrate with third-party services (Google Drive, Slack, etc.). These integrations are subject to the terms of use and privacy policies of those third parties. DocuThink is not responsible for the practices of these third parties.
By connecting a third-party service, you authorize DocuThink to access the data necessary for the integration to function, within the limits defined during authorization.
10. Availability and service levels
DocuThink aims for 99.5% service availability (excluding scheduled maintenance). We are committed to:
- Inform users of planned maintenance with a minimum of 48 hours' notice.
- Prioritize critical incidents with a target resolution within 4 hours.
- Publish a status dashboard accessible at status.docuthink.com.
DocuThink cannot guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service and cannot be held responsible for interruptions due to factors beyond its control (network failures, force majeure, etc.).
11. Limitation of Liability
Within the limits permitted by applicable law:
- DocuThink shall not be liable for any indirect, special, incidental or punitive damages arising out of the use of or inability to use the Service.
- DocuThink's total liability to you shall not exceed the amount paid by you during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
- DocuThink is not responsible for data loss resulting from improper use of the Service or actions on your part.
These limitations apply even if DocuThink has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; therefore, these limitations apply to the extent permitted by applicable law.
12. Guarantees and exclusions
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". DocuThink does not guarantee that:
- The Service will meet all your specific requirements.
- The results generated by our AI will always be perfectly accurate — they must be verified by the user before any important decision.
- The Service will be error-free and uninterrupted.
The summaries and analyses generated by DocuThink are tools to aid understanding and do not replace professional human reading and analysis.
13. Termination
13.1 Termination by the user
You can close your account at any time from your account settings. After closure, your data will be deleted within the timeframe stipulated in our Privacy Policy.
13.2 Termination by DocuThink
DocuThink may suspend or terminate your access in the event of:
- Violation of these Terms and Conditions.
- Fraudulent activity or abusive behavior.
- Non-payment after formal notice.
- Request from the competent authorities.
In the event of termination due to breach of contract, no refund will be granted. In the event of termination without fault on your part, you will be refunded pro rata for the unused period.
14. Applicable Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms and Conditions are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the parties agree to seek an amicable solution within 30 days.
In the absence of an amicable agreement, any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts, without prejudice to the right of any consumer to bring the matter before the court of their place of residence.

15. General Provisions
- Entire agreement: These Terms of Service, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and DocuThink regarding the Service.
- Severability: if one provision is deemed invalid, the others remain in force.
- Non-waiver: DocuThink's failure to exercise a right does not constitute a waiver of that right.
- Assignment: You may not assign your rights without DocuThink's written consent. DocuThink may assign its rights in the event of a merger or acquisition.
